This couple, oh, this couple! Two incredible souls who chose to celebrate their wedding in Chania, Crete, Anna’s birthplace, and Lefteris’ happy place. With Cyprus, Lefteris’ homeland, being so culturally close to Crete, it felt like home from Day 1! Their wedding was a vibrant and joyous celebration, reflecting their energetic and happy personalities. It was impossible for their love celebration to be anything less than extraordinary!
Their Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony took place at the central church of Kasteli, just outside Chania – the very church where Anna was baptized and by the same priest who introduced her to the Greek Orthodox religion. The sacred atmosphere of the church set the perfect tone for their lifelong journey together. The church was transformed with stunning floral arrangements of orchids, roses, Italian ruscus, and hydrangeas, making it feel like “their” church. Anna, blending her English background traditions, ensured her “something blue” appeared not just on her shoes, but also in her breathtaking bridal bouquet and the floral arrangements.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued at a gorgeous outdoor private garden venue, located just a short drive from Kasteli. The reception and party were nothing short of spectacular. Guests were treated to traditional Cretan food served with an elevated twist to highlight the special treatment for those who traveled from afar. The open bar was rich and varied, while the addition of a bouncy castle for kids (and adventurous adults!) kept the fun going. A fantastic DJ rounded out the evening, ensuring the party never stopped. The venue itself was beautifully decorated, reflecting the couple’s taste and their Greek-Cypriot heritage, providing the perfect setting for a night of celebration.
As the night unfolded, the dance floor became the heart of the party. Guests joined in lively Greek dances, creating a spirited and energetic atmosphere. The music and dancing were a testament to the couple’s vibrant personalities and their love for life. The dance moments were often fun and funny, creating lasting memories for all in attendance.
Anna, with her Greek and British roots, added a unique touch to the celebrations, beautifully blending her cultural traditions with Lefteris’ Cypriot heritage. Her grace and style were evident throughout the day, making their wedding a beautiful fusion of cultures and traditions.
Planning Anna and Lefteris’ wedding was such an enjoyable experience for me that becoming friends throughout and after the wedding was inevitable! It was an honor to be part of their wedding in Chania, Crete, and to contribute to their wonderful Big Day!
