In the heart of the UK, a beautiful couple embarked on their journey toward an intimate wedding ceremony that reflected their true selves, and this was set in Crete. They envisioned a boho celebration, brimming with personal touches and modern elements. As we began our planning, we had the pleasure of working with Charlie, who was expecting a little one at the time. Despite her pregnancy, her clarity of vision was remarkable, and together, we crafted a stunning event. We selected a private villa with a nearby secluded courtyard steeped in history for their ceremony, where their closest family and friends gathered to share in the joy. Charlie’s mother, a talented dressmaker, contributed many thoughtful details, ensuring that every element was infused with care and love. With autumn as their backdrop, we chose deep oranges, browns, and earthy tones that harmonized perfectly with the villa’s stone architecture.
On the wedding day, a premium hair and makeup team arrived early, setting the tone for a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Champagne flowed, and beers were provided for the groomsmen, creating a celebratory spirit among the guests. The weather was simply perfect, reminiscent of a summer day, allowing everyone to soak in the joyous occasion.As guests arrived at the historic courtyard—some by bus and others on foot from their villa, which was conveniently located within walking distance—they were welcomed with drinks and snacks. The Olive Weddings Crete team was there, ensuring everything went smoothly and adding to the warm atmosphere.
The ceremony itself was a heartfelt affair, with the groom’s sister officiating, infusing the event with personal touches that showcased the couple’s bond and their connection with family and friends, who felt like family themselves.Later, during the cocktail hour and reception, the spirit of enjoyment was palpable. Every activity was designed to ensure that everyone had a wonderful time; there was nothing pretentious or forced about this wedding. It was a celebration filled with beautiful moments, laughter, and love.
