On a sunny July day, Kim and Mats celebrated their love in one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in Crete: Sea View by En Kipo. Initially drawn to a more rustic aesthetic, the couple fell in love with the venue’s elegant modern design during their venue scouting journey with Olive Weddings Crete. The seamless blend of contemporary architecture and the natural beauty of the sea stole their hearts. We, at Olive Weddings Crete, felt privileged to help them discover their dream destination wedding venue and infuse it with their personal style. Through thoughtful décor, including wooden tables, cross-back chairs, neutral-toned napkins and runners, and a breathtaking rose-lined aisle, we brought their vision to life.
To kick off the festivities, we organized a pre-wedding white party at one of Chania’s most renowned cocktail bars in the old Venetian port. Guests mingled joyfully, savoring some of the island’s best cocktails and delectable finger foods (because in Greece, good food accompanies every occasion!). The lively atmosphere set the perfect tone for the main event.
Kim and Mats began their wedding day in the luxurious Tanneries Hotel in Chania, a newly opened 5-star gem. In a modern twist on tradition, the couple decided to get ready together, prioritizing their shared connection over convention. Walking down the aisle hand in hand, they symbolized equality in their partnership and the unwavering strength of their bond. Surrounded by their children, families, and close friends, Kim and Mats exchanged deeply personal vows that spoke of their journey and their shared dreams for the future. The emotional ceremony was filled with joyful tears and a profound sense of belonging.
The couple extended their warmth to their guests by creating an intimate and inclusive reception. They opted for two grand tables to seat everyone together, fostering a sense of unity and celebration. The dinner, held under a starlit sky at the same stunning venue, featured a meticulously curated menu showcasing Mediterranean flavors, bespoke cocktails from the open bar, and lively entertainment. A live trumpet performance accompanied the DJ’s set, adding a unique and unforgettable touch to the evening.
